Wednesday Run 2 July 2025  The next SVCC Wednesday Run will be on 2 July June 2025. Leaving from the Racecourse at 10:30am Cost: $25 Menu: Chicken Schnitzel with Salad and Chips, Half a dozen Oysters (2nds) with Salad and Chips, (if available), Battered or Pan-Fried Blue Cod with Salad and Chips and Roast Lamb with Roast and Steamed Vegetables.  Please ring Elaine or Angus on 03 212 8956 or 0273104239 by Sunday 29 June.

Dale and Lorraine Simmons - Saturday 5 July 2025 from 2 to 5pm

Dale and Lorraine invite members to an afternoon tea with family and friends to celebrate Dale's 80th birthday and their 50th wedding anniversary being held in the Sacred Heart School Hall, 435 North Road, Waikiwi from 2pm to 5pm.  If anyone wants to speak you are welcome during the function. There will be a M.C,  a close friend of Dale's from his Army days.  Please no presents -Just your presence and a gold coin donation will be collected towards The Stroke Association and St John.  To assist with catering please RSVP to Secretary Carol McGarry 027 277 6878 / email southland@vcc.org.nz or put your name down on the list on the bar so we have an idea of numbers for catering. 


Sunday 13 July 2025 – 60-year membership award presentation to Roy Shanks

Sunday 27 July 2025 – Mid-Winter Dinner at 11.30am to 3pm

Owing to the very successful Christmas meal we have again organised Country Manor to cater for a 2 course mid-winter lunch at $48 per person.   RSVP to Secretary Carol McGarry 027 277 6878 / email southland@vcc.org.nz or put your name with numbers on the list on the bar. Daffodil Day Run is on 24 August 2025 – in conjunction with Ford we will be starting the run at Macaulay Ford at 1.30pm and finishing at the clubrooms.  Entry donation to the Cancer Society is $20 per car and a packet of biscuits for club members towards afternoon the tea. 

Open Day Sunday 16 November 2025 – Members wishing to sell, swap or giveaway their “treasure” will be charged $10 for a table indoors or a site outside for your trailer, truck or car boot.  Sites are limited, so first in first served.  Outdoor sites contact Gerry Pethick on 021 029 85620 to book your site.  Indoor tables – contact our Secretary Carol McGarry on 027 277 6878 / email southland@vcc.org.nz  We will need volunteers on the day to assist with morning tea and directing traffic.

The Vero International Festival of Historic Motoring 15-24 March 2026 Hosted by the Nelson Branch.  Entries are open (close 31/8/25); if you are planning on entering the teams event, there is a limit of 300 vehicles, it is recommended you enter early to avoid missing out.

Barry Hayman is our Welfare Officer. Please contact Barry (216 3639) if you (or any club members) need support. Barry is St John associated and a good person to offer help, advice, or assistance when people are in need. If you put your hand up, you will be surprised to learn about the services available to you through both the Government Services and St John Ambulance. Do not try to do everything on your own. There are many Social Services you may not be aware of, and St John also offers several support services.

Library: The lending library will issue books on the afternoon of meeting nights between 1 & 3 p.m. Other times by appointment - phone Roy: 216 6056

The library has a surplus of books, mainly duplicates, which we want to get rid of. The books will be laid out in the library on club nights and can be purchased for a gold coin donation.
