TŪ MANAWA ACTIVE AOTEAROA​​​​​​​

Providing funding for projects and programmes in Te Tai Tokerau

Sport Northland is proud to be managing Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa on behalf of Sport NZ in our region.

Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa provides funding for programmes or projects delivering tākaro/play, ngā mahi a te rēhia/active recreation and hākinakina/sport experiences for tamariki and rangatahi. These may be new or already operating.

We welcome applications from a wide range of organisations that provide tākaro/play, ngā mahi a te rēhia/active recreation and hākinakina/sport opportunities for tamariki and rangatahi, particularly for those that are less active. These groups include:

  • Children and young people in higher deprivation communities
  • Girls and young women (5-24); and
  • Disabled children and young people (5-18)

We are now accepting applications. Two separate funding round types for Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa are available - Fast Fund and Full Fund.  Applications for both the Fast Fund and Full Fund follow the same criteria and guidelines. Please make sure you read the guidelines prior to applying. ​​​​​​​

$847,000 of the fund will be available in Northland between July 2021 and June 2022 (or until the funds are allocated).
