PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
Sport is an important feature of the St John’s College culture. We have a proud sporting history and we are committed to providing opportunities for our young men to excel and to participate in a wide range of sporting and physical pursuits.
All students are strongly encouraged to participate in sport. We offer over 30 different sporting codes and our teams compete strongly in both traditional and emerging sporting competitions. Their is ample opportunity for students to test their talents, broaden their horizons and form lifelong friendships through sport.
As a Marist school, we insist on high standards of behaviour and sportsmanship from our students. We help young men to develop qualities that will serve them in life – the ability to be gracious in victory and generous in defeat, to play hard and to play fair, to strive for excellence and to bounce back from disappointment.
We are especially proud of the Athlete Development Programme (ADP) which develops fundamental movement competencies and strength and conditioning for our young men. This truly prepares our students - both for the demands of elite sport and for a lifetime of physical activity.
