Secondary Schools (message from Bowls Nelson)
The Tasman district secondary schools tournament is being held at Stoke on Thursday 4th April.
Some of the players entered have never played bowls before, therefore 8 or 10 people are required to assist on the day between 8.30am for a 9.00am start and ending at 3.30pm.
This would involve being on a rink with the players assisting them with how the game is played.
Please contact Elaine Hemi on 03-5475524 if you are available to help.
CASH JACKPOT
With the knowledge that many members of the Club will be away for Easter it has been decided that the Cash Jackpot draw will not be held this Friday night and no nibbles will be provided.
GREENS
Assistance is required to enable maintenance work to be undertaken on the Wadsworth Green. We have enough volunteers for next Tuesday however we are looking for volunteers between 9.30-11.30 on both Wednesday 3rd April and Thursday 4th April. Please make yourself available by contacting Ray Goldsmid on 027 430 6000
GOLF BOWLS CHALLENGE
The golf bowls challenge was played yesterday in great conditions for both golf and bowls. Waahi Taakaro only had two teams due to there being rep golf on and having just had a big tournamnet the day before, and our club had four teams. All players seemed to have had a great day and enjoyed the fun social format.
Stoke Bowls managed to retain the overall challenge Trophy by a comfortable margin, 35 points - 25 points.
Stoke also took the honors for individual teams.
1st Mike K, John H, Nicky R, and Joe T with 19 points
2nd Paul B, Jenny V, Jude W, and Greg R with 16 points but with a better countback.
3rd Mike C, Terry W, Peter H, and Lindsay B with 16 points.
