 Race Numbers and Registration Registered club athletes must wear their club uniform.The race number must be worn as issued on the competitor's front.Please return race numbers at the conclusion of the race. 

Course Details All athletes must follow the course as detailed at the race briefing.Course starts at the Old Oreti Sands Golf Clubhouse following a marked course on:

  • gravel
  • grass
  • forestry roads
  • tracks through a pine plantation
  • Oreti Beach
  • Pit Road
  • returning via unused golf fairways to the clubhouse.

Half Marathon The Half Marathon is 2 laps of the 10km course.

10km Run/Walk Start area is at the Old Oreti Sands Golf Clubhouse. Follows the marked course around Sandy Point before returning to the clubhouse.

5km Run/Walk Start area is at the Old Oreti Sands Golf Clubhouse. Follows gravel roads, grass, forestry roads and pine plantation tracks before returning across unused golf fairways to the clubhouse.

2km Run/Walk Start area is at the Old Oreti Sands Golf Clubhouse. Follows the marked course before returning to the clubhouse. Course Information Marshals will be positioned at key junctions. Detailed course maps will be available at registration.

Drink stations will be located:

Entrance to the beach (approximately 3.5km). Exit from the beach (approximately 7.5km). Start/Finish area, Golf Clubhouse

Toilets are available at:

Start/Finish area, Golf Clubhouse. 7.5km drink station Race Numbers, Registration and Briefing Available on Sunday 27 September from 9.30am until 30 minutes before the start at the Golf Clubhouse.

A compulsory race briefing for all participants will be held at 10.15am covering:

Safety requirements. Course details Start / Finish All events begin at 10.30am, immediately following the race briefing.All events start behind the Golf Clubhouse.

All events finish in front of the Golf Clubhouse.Please contact the Race Organiser if you expect to take longer than 2½ hours to complete the Half Marathon. 

Race Rules

5km, minimum age, 10 years. 

10km, minimum age, 13 years. 

Half Marathon, minimum age, 15 years.

Entrants who only just meet the minimum age are not guaranteed and may need to show training history to organisers. Results will be posted on the St Pauls website as soon as completed. Weather on the beach section can be exposed, so dress appropriately. No animals allowed. Prizegiving Prizegiving will be held at the Golf Clubhouse immediately after results are finalised (approximately 1.00pm).

Entry Fees 21km Half Marathon (Registered Club Member) $50.00, 21km Half Marathon (Unregistered) $60.00. 10km Run $25.0010km. Walk $25.00. 5km Run $15.005km & Walk $15.00, 2km Kids Run $5 Late Entry Fee (Race Day Half Marathon entries only) +$10.00 

Terms of EntryEntry is not valid unless this acknowledgement is signed (paper entry) or accepted during the online entry process.

By entering this event, I acknowledge and agree that:

  • I am medically fit and physically capable of participating in this event.
  • I understand that I am responsible for carrying or wearing appropriate clothing, footwear and equipment suitable for the weather and course conditions.
  • I understand the nature of this event and voluntarily participate at my own risk.
  • I acknowledge that running and walking events involve inherent risks, including (but not limited to) uneven terrain, slips, trips, falls, adverse weather, collisions with other participants, and vehicle traffic where roads remain open.
  • I agree to attend the pre-race briefing.
  • I will follow the designated course and comply with all instructions given by race officials and marshals.
  • I acknowledge that parts of the course are on public roads which remain open to traffic and that I am responsible for exercising due care at all times.
  • I acknowledge that my entry fee is non-refundable unless otherwise agreed by the organisers.
  • I consent to photographs and video taken during the event being used by St Paul's Harrier & Amateur Athletic Club and Southland Harriers for promotional purposes.


Parent/Guardian Declaration:If the entrant is under 18 years of age, I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the entrant, have read and understood these Terms of Entry, and consent to their participation.
