Summer Touch 2022 - 8 weeks Jan-Mar $200

Loved it and want more? Didn't get organised in time? Grab some friends and get 8 sun-soaked weeks of Touch to round out the season. From Jan 12 - Mar 3 with Finals Sat 5 Mar.

Vaccine Status

We can only realistically run the competition by confirming Vaccine Passes. This is for all players (and spectators) over 12.3 years of age.

  • Sporty.co.nz have developed an online app to verify 'My Vaccine Pass' (MVP).
  • If you cannot access this, your pass will need to be seen by module staff prior to playing.
  • Spectators will need to have their MVP on them at the grounds at all times.
  • This will be advertised here, on facebook and at the grounds.

If this means you no longer wish to continue playing or your teams' playing numbers are now insufficient to continue, please let us know: tahuna.touch@gmail.com

If you have any other questions, comments or concerns regarding this, please contact us.

Payments to Westpac 03-0703-0475889-00

  • Make cheques payable to Nelson Touch Association: PO Box 3175 Richmond 7050.
  • Invoice/Receipt produced upon request to nelsonbaystouch@hotmail.com

No pay no play: The funds from your fees go to pay for the grounds, referees and helping to get Nelson Bays Representative Teams to National Tournaments.

Grades

  • Mens & Mixed 1 - Competitive
  • Mens & Mixed 2 - Social / Competitive
  • Mens & Mixed 3 - Social
  • Corporate Mixed - Social / Beginners
  • Women's Round - All Welcome

No Div 1 players in social teams, ie. Grade 3 or Corporate grade; these are just for a fun, social game of Touch.

Finals

  • Sat 5 Mar, times TBC, but should be mid-morning - early afternoon.
  • Prizemoney for Div 1 & 2 only. This is to make them more aspirational and better.
  • Teams that wish to play in finals need to have their players registered. Your team manager would have received the link or contact us.
  • Any social teams can play final Sat. Invites will be sent closer to the time.

Mixed Teams

For a valid mixed game there is a maximum of 3 males on the field at any one time. Therefore if your team has only one female, you will have 4 players on the field. If the opposition and referee agree you may play more males but will forfeit the game. If you can't consistently field a mixed team, we can simply move you into Mens. You may play young boys as women. They must be 10 years or younger, ie. clearly young boys.

Starting Times

Games must start on time with a minimum of 4 players/side. If a side is not ready at the starting hooter, the ref can add a touchdown to the ready side at a rate of 1 per minute, until the games starts or is forfeited.

Uniforms

Matching, numbered tops must be worn, preferably with matching or black shorts. The ref may add a touchdown to the non-offending side if your team is not in uniform at the start of each half. Regular offenders will forfiet their game.

Defaults

Please contact us via facebook messenger if you can not field a team on a particular day, as soon as is possible, but before midday so we can post on the page or make arrangements for a replacement team. Failure to do so will make me very cross. Don't be that team.

Cancellations

Council only close the grounds if there is danger to people, or to their grounds, ie. after sustained rain. We will make a call by midday on the day and post this to the facebook page. Please make sure you and your players are following the page to get updates. If we play in the rain, you get wet. It's not that bad.

Referees/Players

Referees are human, they make mistakes, rarely, but their decisions are final. Please respect their rulings.

Players are human, they are here to enjoy themselves. If you find you are no longer doing that, please take a deep breath and remember this is meant to be fun for everyone. Read the AWHI promise.

*All penalties are at the Referees discretion and are final.

If there are any serious issues, please find Glen, the Module Coordinator at the time or contact us via facebook or email.
