Alumna Angela Cullen, who is Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton's performance coach, made a visit to Takapuna Grammar this week and spoke at our Achievers Breakfast event.
Angela says in an instagram post, 'So proud to be back at TGS, back to my roots, where my journey started. I spoke to the students about my journey, about finding your dream, following your heart, the things that you love, the things that you are passionate about, don't get anxious about a future or a job that may not even exist right now, manifest your dreams, not your fears. Work on understanding self, being the most authentic version of you, understanding your key values in life and making decisions everyday that align with those key values, be the best version of self you can be and your purpose will find you.'
Angela was greeted with a pÅwhiri before addressing the crowd and answering questions from students. She also spoke about how during her time at TGS she played multiple sports including hockey, rugby and cricket.
After breakfast Angela was shown around the school campus by head prefects Rohan and Maia before taking time to pose for photographs in Te Poho in front of the 'Distinguised Alumni' honours board that now has her name for her contribution to elite sports.
F1 driver Lewis Hamilton even shared on his instagram story the photo below of our head prefects with Angela.
It was great to hear your inspiring story Angela, thanks for coming back to visit TGS.
