TGS 19 - Massey High School 7 - Win

The Youth 16s made the perfect start, scoring two excellent tries inside the opening 10 minutes through Jack Ryder and Levi Gillies. Both came off the back of sharp backline moves and a forward pack that was on top at scrum time and in the lineout.

The game then settled into something of a stalemate, with neither side able to break through until midway through the second half. Outstanding teamwork from the forwards finally created the opening for Jett Steel to cross for the third try. Kiedis Baskerville converted two of the three.

Every player showed immense heart and dedication, but three stood out. Daniel Porteous took Forward of the Day, Luke Donnelly earned Back of the Day, and Riley Marsh walked away with Tackler of the Day.

The boys now turn their attention to Saturday's semifinal against Mahurangi College on TGS No.1.
