It was a fantastic year for TGS Climbing, with Takapuna Grammar School winning the overall School Trophy at the Auckland College Climbing Series!

This year's series was bigger than ever, with 53 schools competing across Auckland. Competitors battled it out across four rounds spread throughout the year, alternating between top rope and boulder disciplines. TGS finished ahead of Westlake Girls' High School in second and Macleans College in third, with our climbers bringing the Auckland College Climbing Series trophy shield back to TGS. This is the first time TGS has won shield!

There were also some outstanding individual results across the series, with several TGS climbers finishing in the top 10 and securing podium finishes:

• Paige Horn – 3rd (Bronze)
• Sienna Wickens – 10th

Senior Boys

• Leo Goffinet – 2nd (Silver)
• Teo Besier – 5th
• Wilson Taylor – 10th

Junior Girls

• Juliette Goffinet – 2nd (Silver)

Junior Boys

• Tim Fokin – 8th

Winning the overall School Trophy is a fantastic achievement for our students and recognition of the strength and growth of the TGS climbing programme.
