TOURNAMENT RULES and CONDITIONS

The tournament is open to all juniors under the age of 17years,

Being full playing members of an affiliated golf club with a full playing handicap.

The tournament committee reserves the right to accept or decline and entry without explanation.

The rules of play will be the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club St Andrews, except as varied by the local rules.
Practice round can be booked directly with the Taupo Golf Club

On course Coaching will not be permitted
The Mike Alexander Trophy Winner awarded to the lowest total score returned after round one & two, Boy (white tee) or Girl (red tee)
In the event of a tie, sudden death playoff will take place on 18^th Hole Tauhara Course.
Any disputes or protests lodged with the tournament director Hamish Robertson Head Professional Taupo Golf Club or Convenor Helen Clelland immediately after completion of round.
The Decision of the tournament Committee is FINAL.

Electronic measuring devices or mobile phones may be used.
Every Player must walk the course
Spectators are most welcome but must stay clear of player and caddie. Carts may be available to hire for spectators through the Golf Shop

At Taupo Junior Golf we strive to create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere where young individuals can regularly and affordably engage in the sport of golf. Our vibrant enviroment nurtures their passion and provides them with the necessary tools to develop skills.

At the Taupo Golf Club, Juniors are able to join the club for FREE until the age of 16years when you live in Taupo.

This will then entitle you to the course and facitities to practice your golf, Juniors can have a small basket of practice ball for free,

but please bring the basket back to pro shop.

When you sign up to a coaching session you will automaticly be added to the Junior Membership.

If you would like to join the club please contact the Pro Shop.

You will be given a Membership Number and we will teach you what is required with the computer as you learn.

To help you with the transation of membership and how the club works you can ask at the proshop or any of your coaches for guideance and availability of the golf course.

The more you involve your selves with Junior Golf the faster you will learn

Competitions are played on Sunday Mornings from 9am Summer time, 10am Winter time. A $2 fee is payable Sundays

Parents can buy a consession card of 10 x 9hole rounds from the Pro shop for those parents not members. Just get it cliped at the Pro Shop, you are encouraged to accompany your child on the course.

We use Forward Tees: On the Tauhara course the forward tees have been installed to encourage all beginners. Purple Tees are the closest to the green, followed by Terracotta Tees then the general club tees , Red and White Tees. Please note no Purple tees on Centennial course.

When Juniors start golf they are encouraged to pick up along the fairway once 5 shots have been played, they then walk the ball to the green, you can now putt out. Mark your score down as a 10 and circle it.
