The 2010s

2012

  • December 2012 saw a change in Administration Manager with the farewell of Mihi Murch and Angela Montgomery taking over the role.  Angela had been a volunteer leading up to this role, as a Board Member, A Championship Coordinator, Mixed League Coordinator, Senior Draw & Registration Steward.


2013

  • With the pavilion upgrade and extension underway, under the helm of Rose Mansfield as President, Board Members, Karen Owen, Cate Deadman as well as Rose, painted the entire new interior and exterior of the extension build, a major effort saving our members and Centre thousands of dollars.  Administration Manager Angela Montgomery obtained funding of approximately $120,000 for this project, with a fundraising project of selling sponsorship netball plaques raising a further $8000 to complete the stages.


2014

  • Rose Mansfield continued in the role of President and saw the completion of the pavilion upgrade and extension, a project which she worked tirelessly on from start to finish.


2015

  • Beginning of 2015 saw the completion of two new courts, courtesy of the Taupo District Council.
  • On 19th February 2015 we assisted Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty in hosting the Magic vs Fiji game at the Taupo Event Centre.  Approximately 700 people attended the game and enjoyed the fun local atmosphere.  Jodeci Nicol had the privelege to deliver the ball to start the game and was a hit with the players and crowd alike.
  • In July the pavilion enjoyed the new look of brand new waterproof carpeting and new lino throughout, making the pavilion a much smarter, warmer and safer environment.
  • In November & December, the first two outdoor shelters were completed, with the support and sponsorship of Wade Construction.
  • Rose Mansfield received the honour of TNC Life Membership, for her tireless work and committment in her many roles she has assisted with, Coaching, Umpiring, Board Member and President to name just a few.


2016

  • Another two new courts were completed thanks to Taupo District Council, ensuring our facilities are of the highest standard.
  • Phil Paenga received TNC Life Membership for his many years of service to TNC assisting with development of umpires and as a dedicated Board Member and volunteers.
  • The third outdoor shelter was built in August 2016, providing much needed shelter for our spectators and players.​​​​​​​


2017

  • Barbara Clarke and Joan De Petra received Life Membership for their outstanding dedication to junior and secondary school netball within the Taupo and Turangi Districts.
  • Melissa Tupara and Ruby Maniapoto recieved Serivce Awards for 10 years of committment and dedication to TNC, asssisting in a variety of roles of those years.


2018

  • The following long standing volunteers received their service awards, after 10 years of service to TNC

    • Cristina Duff
    • Rositta Nicol
  • This was the last year of Year 6 & Year 7 representative teams within in New Zealand, due to a change in policies within NNZ.  Reps for this age group was replaced by a development programme where all players were eligible to attend and benefit from the extra development opportunities. 
  • The very last Story Cup tournament was held and due to the changes in the representative space where there would be no more Y6, Y7 or Y8 teams to attend which was the core of this tournament, it was unfortunate that this long standing tournament will no longer be viable.


2019

  • Sandy Courtney was presented with her Life Membership Award for her many years of committment and support for netball within Taupo

This was the last year of Year 8 representative teams due to the NNZ new development policies.
