We are a rural junior rugby club with a player base predominantly from Rongotea and surrounding areas.
Last year we entered 16 teams in the Manawatu Saturday morning junior rugby competition with teams ranging from year0-1s up to year 8s.
We have a strong focus on the enjoyment and continual development of our children’s rugby. We believe that the future of rugby in the Manawatu starts at grass roots with these young children and feel it is important we do the very best we can to ensure that they grow as young players both in skill level and in confidence and that, most of all, they have fun playing the game so that they stick with the sport in years to come and contribute to the strengthening of Manawatu rugby in the future.
We also feel that involvement in rugby teaches our children valuable life skills which will assist in moulding them into positive contributors within our community and society. Fair play, team work, practice until you succeed, learning from mistakes philosophies, positive outlooks, commitment, friendships, encouragement, positive social engagement skills and many other beneficial qualities are often formed and cemented on the rugby pitch which are stepping stones to be built on in all areas of life. It is important that we can provide an environment where these skills can develop and flourish to empower these children with key skills in their future endeavours.
We have a healthy group of volunteers helping to action this mission and a supportive group of parents and community members behind us.

Come and join us at TK in 2023 and give your child the best rugby experience possible!
