Rugby: Alumni feature in both North Shore Rugby Club's 2024 titles


North Shore Rugby Club has claimed both the Premier and the Under 21 rugby championships in 2024 with both teams featuring a number of TGS alumni. (article continues below photos)

The Premiers defeated Takapuna in a well supported home final. The Premier team was co-captained by former Deputy Head Boy and 1st XV captain, Donald Coleman. The finals team also featured TGS alumni James Little, Hunter Rice, Lockie McNair, Leigh Thompson and Kauri Enoka, who started in both the Premier and U21 final games.

Alongside Kauri in the U21 squad this year was Hayden McKay, Tai Blair, Noah Tu’isila, Harry Tu’isila, Gene Garea, Jack Avery, DJ Parker, Ted Inch, Scott Tuitipo, Sam Tuitupo, Jackson Hayde, Noah Eakin and the team captain, another former Deputy Head boy,  James Fairbairn.

The U21's went up quickly to a 22-3 lead holding on in the final moments to win 22-20.
