TINWALD PONY CLUB
Based on Laghmor Rd, Tinwald, on the outskirts of Ashburton (turn at Z Garage, cross the railway line), the grounds are on the right, behind trees.We have good central grounds, an all-weather arena, portable XC jumps, a trailer load of show jumps and a good sized Club Room. We hire out our grounds, arena or the jump trailer, with its painted rails. Tinwald rallies meet on the second Sunday of the month, starting at 10.15am, stop for a Bbq lunch and continue with H/M afterwards. We are a happy group with active, riding parents who join in working, instructing and sometimes riding. The children especially enjoy outings when the fathers ride, too! Tinwald is a Certificate orientated Branch and have a long record of Pony Club achievers. We have had 6 "A" Certificate passes and 3 "A" partial passes, a Silver "O" and a NZPCA Young Achiever 2003, some Inter-Pacific riders, and one Trans-Tasman rider. Our riders have enjoyed many team events such as, Dressage and Horse Trials Champs, Show Jumping Champs and Games Zone Finals and we feel it important for their development, to be part of these. Springston Trophy (2003) we had 2 teams; this allowed more children to participate. This year we had a composite team - this is a great way of mixing and a draft rider team allows even more, to join in.We believe that this is what Pony Club is all about!
