Te Papapa Onehunga

Rugby & Sports Club

'The Community Sports Hub for the Whole Family'

Here is a brief outline of what you can expect on Saturday 27th May;

nib and the Blues will be providing each participant and their 1 x parent/guardian with an entry ticket to the Blues v Hurricanes game.

nib and the Blues will be arranging bus services to collect you from an agreed upon collection point, and the bus will drop you off at the stadium no later than 6:15pm.

When you have arrived at Eden Park you will meet your nib Ambassador. This person will be sticking with your team throughout the evening, showing you to your seats, and getting racers ready when it is time to take to the field!

Kick-off is at 7:05pm.

20mins into the game time, your 10 x racers and Club Rep will follow the instructions of the nib Ambassador and start making their way to the field for the race.

The race will begin at half time, and the team that finishes the relay first will win $10,000! The winning team will be presented with their cheque on field just before the second half kicks off. The winners will be photographed and may be required to be interviewed by media following the race.

All teams will make their way back to their seats by following the instructions of their nib Ambassador.

The buses will be waiting at the same place after the game & will then depart to take you back to your collection point.

Important notes:

Please only enter ONE team per club or school (10 players).

Each racer may bring 1 parent/guardian to the game. If they are unable to have anyone attend with them, we must have written permission from a parent or guardian that another parent or the club representative will be responsible for them.

Each racer must be dressed in their club uniform (rugby clubs) / school PE uniform (schools).

Racers must only wear regular running shoes or football / rugby boots when taking part in the competition. Barefeet are NOT allowed. The field may be wet, so boots are recommended to minimise the risk of slipping.

We recommend bringing lots of warm clothing, and potentially some food and drink to make sure your team are in the best condition for racing!

Security / Health and Safety procedures are extremely strict at Eden Park. We have allocated a nib/Blues representative to stay with your team for the duration of the game. It is super important that kids and club reps listen closely to all instructions on the day. Club reps – please encourage this!

No parents/guardians are allowed access to the field. They must stay in the stands for the race.

Wet Weather cautions/advice will be sent out closer to the time if the forecast is poor.

Before we send your Participation packs and tickets, we require the following information to confirm your team’s attendance.

Please fill in the master list attached, listing details for all who will be attending on match day.
