Table Tennis New Zealand is the nation's governing body for the sport of table tennis. Our  purpose is to support and grow table tennis in New Zealand and to inspire the table tennis  community. With our vision for table tennis to be ‘a sport for all for life’, we are dedicated to  fostering a vibrant table tennis community and nurturing the growth of the sport at all levels. 

With an ambitious vision for the future, a strong financial base and an experienced team, we  are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as our Chief Executive Officer. 

Position Overview: 

We are in search of an exceptional CEO to lead Table Tennis New Zealand into its next phase  of growth and influence. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the strategic  direction of our organisation, driving innovation, and ensuring the overall success of our table  tennis programmes and initiatives. They will collaborate effectively with the Board and embody  Table Tennis New Zealand’s values.  

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Strategic Leadership: 

 - Work alongside the Board to develop and implement a visionary and comprehensive  strategy to elevate the presence and popularity of table tennis in New Zealand.  - Lead the organisation in achieving its mission to promote and develop table tennis from  grassroots to high-performance levels. 

2. People Leadership:  

- Lead a team of employees and contractors.  

- Build a cohesive, dynamic, and effective operational team. 

- Inspire, develop and manage staff members. Bring the dispersed team together frequently  to drive a strong and collaborative team culture. 

- Create an environment that attracts and retains our officials and volunteer workforce. 

3. Operational Excellence: 

 - Oversee the day-to-day operations of Table Tennis New Zealand, ensuring the efficient  and effective delivery of table tennis programs and services. 

 - Foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and inclusivity within the table tennis  community. 

- Develop, implement and review the operational policies and procedures of the organisation. 

4. Stakeholder Engagement: 

 - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the 18 affiliated Associations, ITTF, Sport NZ, Sponsors and funders, and the wider table tennis community.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in a clear, concise and regular way to ensure  stakeholders are kept updated and involved in key strategic and operational decisions.   - Advocate for the interests of Table Tennis New Zealand at both national and international  levels. 

5. Financial and Risk Management: 

 - Develop and manage the organisation's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and  responsible resource allocation. 

- Identify, manage and report financial and non-financial risks to the organisation.  - Seek and secure funding and commercial opportunities through partnerships,  sponsorships, and grants to support table tennis development. 

- Ensure that the organisation operates within the various legal and regulatory parameters that  apply to it. 

6. Brand Management: 

 - Enhance the visibility and reputation of Table Tennis New Zealand through effective  branding and communication strategies. 

 - Act as a spokesperson for the organisation, representing the values and mission of table  tennis to the public alongside the Chair of the Board. 

Qualifications: 

- Proven executive leadership experience in sporting organisations or in business.  - Strong strategic planning and execution skills. 

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. 

- Financial acumen and experience in budget management. 

- A genuine passion for developing sport in New Zealand.
