Swim Meet Etiquette

Some of our new swimmers may start to swim at meets for the club this year.  A few tips below will help you make your races on time, and help our meet manager move our swimmers in the right direction at the right time!

1. When you arrive at the pool, please let the team manager know you have arrived;

2. Swimmers must stay with the team at all times.  If you do need to leave the group for example to go to the bathroom, please let your team manager know;

3. Swimmers only go to marshalling at the instructions of the team manager and/or coach;

4. Swimmers always talk to the coach before going to marshalling and after your race before you return to your seat with the team;

5. Family, friends and supporters of our swimmers, please respect the manager/coaches position at meets.  We know sometimes its really hard not to 'coach' your child from the sidelines, but it does make it hard for the coaches and managers to do their job. Generally swimmers will sit down in the front rows so coaches and managers can access them quickly, talk to them as a group without having to shout in all directions, and builds a sense of 'team' within the group. We love having your support so keep positively supporting your child in whatever way you can :)
