Porirua Primary Schools Sports Association - PPSSA for short

Is the organisation which supports all cluster events for the 16 Schools within our Porirua zone.

PPSSA

• Promote and help facilitate sporting opportunities and events within our cluster.

• Promote and facilitate events that have pathways through to Regional and Inter regional events , such as Cross Country and Athletics.                                                                        ie - School event = Cluster/zone event = Regional event = Inter-regional event.

• Promote other Sporting events within the cluster, these might be: Ki o rahi, Futsal, Rippa Rugby, Touch,Flag,  Football, Basketball, Hockey, Softball and Netball etc. Provides linkages between schools, clubs and community groups.​​​​​​​

The sporting opportunities that are offered allow children of all abilities to get involved as well as create competitive opportunities.  

This may lead on to many getting involved in sports both inside and outside of school.   

We encourage students to make the most of the opportunities provided through their School and the cluster events

For our Year 7 and Year 8, the Porirua Primary Schools Sports Association allows the opportunity for our students to be involved – Cross Country, Rippa Rugby, Ki O Rahi, Netball, and Athletics.  Also in September, there is the opportunity to attend the AIMS Games in Tauranga,
