This is a clarification of the ITC process, and the process to follow when a player is in your Sporty database as Int Required.
Players are not eligible to play unless they have an Active registration status in Sporty.
As time allows, WaiBOP have been running reports of players with an Int Required status, and contacting clubs and schools to advise them of any action required, but as player registrations increase and we get closer to the start of the season, it’s important that clubs are aware of this process and are managing this themselves to ensure that players are correctly registered in a timely manner.
It would be helpful for clubs to highlight to players/parents that if they can take the time to ensure that they have registered with their correct name and date of birth, this will help with reducing the number of duplicate registrations we receive and have to manage.
When are International Transfer Certificates (ITC’s) required?
ITC’s are required for players aged 10+ who are:
ITC’s Process
With the transition to Sporty, the process for submitting and approving ITC’s has changed. Check out the ITC Requirements and all documents required on our website here
The ITC process for players ages 18+ is now managed by clubs – for instructions click here
For Minor ITC’s clubs will need to provide all documentation to catherine.c@waibop.co.nz
If you are unsure if a player requires an ITC or a Minor ITC, please contact Catherine.
Why are players flagged as Int Required outside of the above criteria?
Some player registrations showing as Int Required despite not meeting any of the above criteria. The vast majority of these are due to registrations through the new Sporty form not matching exactly to the existing registration bought over from Comet (e.g D.O.B is different or player name is different) and creating a ‘new’ duplicated registration.
How do I resolve these issues?
• Add a note to the registration form for NZF purposes, to advise that this is a previously registered player that has triggered an ITC in error.

• Contact catherine.c@waibop.co.nz to resolve the duplicate record
• Once it has been confirmed this has been done, ‘Activate’ the registration in your Sporty Online Registrations by selecting the green +.

• A pop-up box will appear – select ‘Ready for NZF Action’ (you do not need to upload documentation if not required)

NOTE: If you change a player status to Int Entered that does not meet the criteria, and the player does require an ITC, then NZ Football will change the status back to Int Required and advise WaiBOP that this needs to be followed up. This will delay the registration process, so do not change a player status to Int Entered unless you are confident that the player does not require an ITC. If you are unsure, please contact Catherine.
Statuses in Sporty
You can filter in Online Registrations to see the status of players. Other Statuses will cover the Int Required, Int Entered and Int Pending status.
