MELVILLE UNITED

Women's coaching vacancy

Melville United are seeking to appoint a club Head of Women’s Football for 2022 and beyond.

The successful applicant will lead the implementation, planning and delivery of the Melville United Female Development Programme (MUFDP) and report to the club’s technical director. They will be expected to coach either the women’s first team (currently competing in the WaiBOP W-League) or one of the club’s age-group female academy teams. They will also recruit and train staff and coaches for the MUFDP, and identify and recruit new female players for the club.

Ideally applicants will have previous experience working in a club or community football programme with talented and aspiring female footballers, have an OFC ‘C’ Football Coaching Licence (or equivalent) and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Melville are seeking to develop a clear and progressive pathway for female footballers at the club, building on the success of their academy programme. While we have a broad plan for how this can unfold, at the interview stage we will be inviting applicants to outline their own vision and ideas for providing unique and positive football experiences for female club members.

Applications close on November 19, 2021, with the club secretary, at info@melvilleunited.co.nz. A coaching honorarium will be agreed by negotiation. For further information contact chairman Wayne Bates, Ph 021 455-534.

There is also a newly formed U10 girls team which requires a coach for the winter season.

Expressions of interest for all positions are invited from interested coaches, please state your coaching accreditations, experience and interest in the girls pathway. Police checks will be required.
