Otumoetai Football Club has been re-accredited with the NZ Football Quality Club Mark 1 Star. This is the third time the club has achieved this award, which is a record for a club in this region.
WaiBOP Football Game Development Manager Graeme Blake attended Otumoetai FC’s recent AGM to present the QCM plaque.
“At the club’s AGM it was clear that Otumoetai FC is in a good space, both financially and structurally. The club is run by a great group of dedicated, passionate and organised people”, said Graeme.
“The QCM criteria developed by NZ Football provides a measurement standard by which we can grade a club’s professionalism both on and off the field. Accreditation provides surety that we have the systems in place to protect our members, the integrity to handle the club financially and the future planning in place to support and grow the club”, said club secretary Julia Banks.
“With the largest membership in the WaiBOP region it is important that we have processes in place to allow us to operate efficiently and effectively. QCM gives a clear outline of procedures to have in place and follow as a club, both on and off the field. The criteria supports us to be able to see what we are doing well and what we can do better to offer a high quality football experience to all our players, coaches and other volunteers involved in the club and ensure a positive experience is had by all”, added Otumoetai FC Director of Football Joe Dixon.
“This is the third time the club has gone through the accreditation process, what it does highlight for us is whilst the criteria has been met before, football in New Zealand is always evolving and it is important we continue to do the same as a club”, said Joe.
“There have been a few changes since our last accreditation such as the introduction of COMET and more emphasis on injury prevention through Fit 4 Football. This took a bit of time to work through to ensure everything was kept up to date and an eye opener for us to keep up to speed with changes happening on and off the field continually”, added Julia.
