FUN FOOTBALL

WHO: A program of ball discovery and learning FUNdamentals for players turning 6-8 years, using best practice, by following the NZFootball Whole of Football Plan for Fun Football.

NOTE: If it is the players first season and they are turning 6 the best option would be the First Kicks. If the player is turning 8, and has completed a year in Fun Football they could move on to Mini Football. New players to football should complete a season in Fun Football.

Consideration is given to technical/tactical, social/emotional, mental, and physical capabilities as the player will be playing with and against 10 year olds in Mini Football.

COST:

Early Bird Fee: $100 (paid by 31st March 2022).

Standard Fee: $120 (paid after 1st April 2022).

WHERE: Maria Andrews, Coldstream Road, Rangiora.

WHEN: Saturday mornings- Sessions runs from 9am-10.15am. 

Start Date: Saturday 7th May 2022

Finish Date: Saturday 3rd September 2022

No football on Queens Birthday weekend, Matariki weekend, and the Middle weekend of July school holidays.

Prizegiving Date: Saturday 10th September

INFORMATION:

  • Skills sessions followed by a game with game leaders following the NZ Football- Whole of Football curriculum.
  • Number of sessions: 15 x 75 minute sessions plus football festival and prize giving.
  • Players will need to provide black shorts, black socks, shinpads and boots.  Playing Tops will be provided and given to coaches to give out to the team at the start of the season. 
  • Shin pads are COMPULSORY.
  • If it is deemed unsafe due to heavy rain or cold conditions the session may be cancelled. Cancellations will be listed on the club website and Facebook page.​​​​​​​


HAVE-A-GO DAY: If you have a child who hasn't played football before, our Have-a-go Day is a great way to give it a go. Lots of fun, skill sessions and mini games.

Mini Football (8-9 years)- 9.30am-10.30am

Fun Football (6-7 years)- 10.45am-11.45am

First Kicks (4-5 years)- `12noon-1pm
