Netball NZ Level 1 guidelines

The primary focus for Netball is to ensure we provide a safe environment that allows our members to participate with confidence and enjoyment.

Sanitation and Hygiene

  • No public health requirements are mandatory; however, it is important to remain vigilant and continue to practice good hygiene to minimise the risk of community transmission.
  • Display signage prominently at your centre, courts, entrances, noticeboards
  • Centres should continue to regularly clean shared surfaces.
  • There is no requirement to sanitise equipment between uses.
  • Participants should be encouraged to bring their own hand sanitiser.

 ‘10 Golden Rules’ of Level 1 for  clubs and schools

  1. If you are sick, stay home. Do not go to work, school or socialise.
  2. If you have cold or flu-like symptoms, call your doctor or Healthline. Get tested https://covid19.govt.nz/health-and-wellbeing/covid-19/covid-19-testing/
  3. Wash your hands.
  4. Sneeze or cough into your elbow and regularly clean shared surfaces.
  5. You must self-isolate if you’re told by officials to do so.
  6. Stay healthy, work with your GP if you have underlying health issues.
  7. Keep track of where you’ve been.
  8. Help people track movement by displaying the QR code
  9. Stay vigilant.
  10. Be kind to others and be kind to yourself.

Contact tracing.

  • Centres will display the NZ COVID Tracer QR code poster.
  • Centres are not required to record or hold information of people who attend their venue.  The responsibility is on the individual to maintain a record of where they have been and who they have been in contact with to enable rapid contact tracing in the event they have contact with an active case.

Gatherings

  • There are no restrictions on numbers attending sports games, tournaments, or activities.
  • However, if outbreaks of COVID-19 occur in New Zealand, controls on gatherings could be implemented.

Physical distancing

  • When not playing it is recommended that people should still consider distancing themselves from people they do not know.
