Golf
Wellington College Golf is for students who currently play golf and have an official handicap index.
If your son is interested in getting started in golf but does not have an official handicap, please talk to Mr Nathan Frew in office G2 in the Sports Centre. Mr Frew is the Wellington College Golf Convenor and the Assistant Learning Area Leader of Health and Physical Education. He will be able to provide information about how to get started.
Please be aware that students do not get coaching at school. They must organise their own coaching through a golf club or coaching professional. For advice, please contact Mr Frew.

The $30 registration fee covers the cost of CSW enrolment and competition entry into the three main CSW golf events for the year. They are:
- The Philips Cup - a nine hole combined stableford event which is currently played at Mirimar Golf Club on Monday afternoons from 4pm throughout Term 1.
- The CSW Individual and Team Championships - Individual and team 18 hole stroke play event that is also the qualifying event for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championship.
- The CSW Junior Golf Championships - 18 hole stroke play event (or 9 hole event for those without official handicaps) for Year 9 and 10 students only. Held in Term 4.
There may be additional costs for those selected to play in Traditional Fixtures (mainly related to travel costs for away fixtures) and if a team qualifies for the NZSS Golf Championships.
UNIFORM: Students representing Wellington College in golf are expected to wear the Wellington College “Gold Sport Polo Shirt” which can be purchased from the Wellington College Uniform Shop. This is listed as “Cricket Polo" in the Uniform Shop pricing list. Along with this, they are expected to wear black golf shorts or long trousers.
