Hockey

Welcome to Wellington College Hockey.

The goal of this club is to foster hockey as a successful and vibrant College sport, to assist the players to develop their hockey skills, and to keep all players and parents/caregivers informed of key dates and events as the season progresses.

Wellington College has a strong hockey tradition with considerable success in the local competitions, where we usually field 5 or 6 teams, and a large number of our boys representing Wellington in representative teams.

Two of our senior players Matt Crawford and Aryan Vallabh reached the milestone of 100 games for the 1s XI this year. Matt went on to win the CSW Hockey Player of the Year for 2023.

Please visit our website for more information, including key dates, and Information for Y9s.

The 1st XI attend Rankin Cup/India Shield (2 - 6 September in Tauranga) during winter tournament week, while the 2nd XI attend the Galletly Cup tournament (2 - 7 September in Cromwell). We also select an U15 fixture team to contest the local Miskimmin Cup, and the traditionals against Palmerston North Boys' High School and New Plymouth Boys High School.
