Ultimate

Welcome to Wellington College Ultimate.

Ultimate plays like American Football but with the rules of netball. It is a fast-moving non-contact mixed-gender team sport played with a flying disc.

In 2015 we had 4 WC students selected for the NZ U20 Team which played Australia and competed in the World Champs in Poland in 2016. In 2023 we competed at the NZSS Championships. Gatsby Cohen and Ollie Church were selected for trials for the NZ U20 team.

Term 1 has an outdoor 5-a-side summer league at MacAlister Park, as well as Outdoor Nationals which take place on the 25-26 March in Taupo.

Terms 2 and 3 has a 4-a-side indoor league at Akau Tangi. The NZSS tournament takes place around end of August to early September.

Although there are no school tournaments held during term 4, there are adult leagues that we can enter into if there is enough interest.

If you want to try your hand with ultimate frisbee earlier, there is training on the WC turf every Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 (weather permitting). Further info can be found here: https://wellington.ultimate.org.nz/youth-training
