Ultimate

Welcome to Wellington College Ultimate.

Ultimate plays like American Football but with the rules of netball. It is a fast-moving non-contact mixed-gender team sport played with a flying disc.

In 2015 we had 4 WC students selected for the NZ U20 Team which played Australia and competed in the World Champs in Poland in 2016. In 2023 we ccompeted at the NZSS Championships. Gatsby cohen and Ollie church were selected for trials for the NZ u 20 team.

There is an outdoor 5-a-side summer league in term 1 at MacAlister Park, as well as Outdoor Nationals which take place on the 19-20 of March in Taupo.

In Terms 2 and 3, there is a 4-a-side indoor league at the ASB Sports Center. There are also Indoor Nationals which take place around August to September.

Although there are no school tournaments held during term 4, there are adult leagues that we can enter into if there is enough interest.

If you want to get involved with ultimate frisbee earlier or try it out, there is training on the WC turf every Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 (weather permitting). Further info can be found here: https://wellington.ultimate.org.nz/youth-training
