Please read all the information about registration.

Above are links to register your child/ren to play Hockey and Netball for Whangarei Primary School in 2022.

Please complete a seperate form for each child.

All student registrations must be completed by Friday 11 March 2022. 

If you are not entered by this time, you can still register, but will be placed on a waiting list and if there are spaces in a team your child will be able to play.

The season is during term 2 and 3 so please remember this is a commitment to your team. If you register you need to play for both terms.

Fees for the season will be $55, payable before the end of term 1.


All coaches, managers and spectarors will have to be vacinated.  Please read the information on Hockey Northland

Hockey Information:

Grading for hockey work as follows:

Kiwi Sticks Grade - Years 5 and 6 - 6 a side plus 1 goalie played across and on 1/2 of a full field with boarded sidelines, full goals and circles marked.

Mini Sticks Grade – Years 3 and 4 – 6 aside played across and on ¼ of a full field or on the junior turf situated past the grandstand.  Cones for goals are 4 paces wide. Games are 14 minutes each way no halftime.

Fun Sticks  – Year 1 – is played throughout the JMC season with the same breaks as other competitions.  This is a basic introduction to the game and is based on skill development and does not include 'hockey games' in the traditional sense. All gear is supplied.  Children are required to have their own mouth guard and a gold coin donation is requested to go towards Funsticks skill instruction.


Netball Information:

Overview for Year 1 & 2 (5-6 years young) Playing Format 4 v 4 Game Day format 20 min Warm Up & Skill Development, 2 x 8min halves Game Session duration 44 minutes.

Overview for Year 3 & 4 (7-8 year young) Playing Format 5 v 5Game Day format 18 min Warm Up & Skill Development, 4 x 8min quarters Game Session duration 63 minutes.

Overview for Year 5 & 6 (9-10 year young) Playing Format 6 v 6 Game Day format 4 x 8min quarters Game Session duration 45 minutes.​​​​​​​​​​​
