CONDITIONS OF PLAY
Dates of play are: 24th & 31st January, 14th & 28th February and 7th March
Please arrive in time to commence play at 1PM.
To familiarise yourself there will be time for any questions before we start but you could begin to think about your own team tactics before the first game.
Two Rounds per afternoon each played as 3 Bowl pairs.
Each game is 2 sets of 6 ends.
Toss a coin at start only. Winner of previous end starts next end - including a tiebreaker end.
Winners determined by Games W-L, Sets W-D-L, Shots for & against
Each player must play a minimum 8 ends per game. When these are played is at each team’s discretion. If criteria not met the game and both sets are defaulted.
A Joker may be played once during each game at the discretion of each team. The Joker end must be nominated before the jack is delivered. Any points scored on that end will be doubled.
At any stage throughout the game if the Jack is burned it is placed on 2 metre mark. If this is not possible then it is to be placed on the centre line as near as possible to the 2 metre mark.
If game ends at 1 set all an extra Tiebreaker end is played to decide the winner.
All players play two bowls each in a tiebreaker end.
If there is a bye there will be spare players each round to use as replacements. There may also be others to fill in if needed. Any replacements need to be approved by the match committee.
Check each week that your entire team is available for the following game and advise the match committee as soon as possible if you are short of a player.
If no replacement is available then the team may play as a pair; however each player must skip and lead 6 ends each and they will not be able to play their Joker.
