2019 Oceania Wrestling Championships


NZ took a team of 8 athletes to compete at this year's Oceania Championships held in Yona, Guam, with great success on the podium.  On Day 1 of Greco-Roman four wrestlers competed with four medals being won: 

 

Junior 63kg - Gold to Suraj Singh (Katikati)

 

 

Junior 63kg - Silver to Sam Harrison (Taieri)

 

 

Senior 72kg - Bronze to Solomon King (Taieri)

 

 

Senior 97kg - Gold to Joe Dobson (Combat Sports).

 

 

Day 2 saw just as much success in the Freestyle competition with the following being won:

 

 

Senior Women 62kg - Gold to Tayla Ford (Mt Maunganui)

 

 

Senior Women 76kg - Gold to Michelle Montague (Hamilton Hawks)

 

 

Junior Male 61kg - Gold to Suraj Singh (Katikati)

 

 

Senior Women 59kg - Silver to Ana Moceyawa (Mt Maunganui)

 

 

Cadet Male 80kg - Silver to Tama Manuirirangi (Hamilton Hawks)

 

 

Junior Male 65kg - Silver to Sam Harrison (Taieri)

 

 

Senior Male 70kg - Silver to Solomon King (Taieri)

 

 

Senior Male 97kg - Silver to Joe Dobson (Combat Sports)

 

 

Senior Male 61kg - Bronze to Suraj Singh (Katikati).

 

 

The Senior Women also took Gold in the Teams.
