Wellington Masters Cycling Club is hosting this year’s Wellington Centre Road Championships in the Wairarapa.
The Time Trial and the road race are an opportunity for line honours within respective age groups for Wellington Centre riders.
The 2022 Centre Champs are aligned as closely as possible to the 2022 Age Group Road Nationals and in accordance with CNZ Road and Track regulations.
The distances have been determined that will benefit all club riders and age groups in the centre.
Start lists will be posted on the WMCC website in the afternoon of Saturday 9th April 2021.
Venue | Both the TT and Road Race events are based out of the Gladstone Sports Centre at the eastern end of Gladstone Road.
MORNING: Individual Time Trial (ITT) – Registration from 7.30-8.30 at Gladstone Sports Centre for people riding both the Time Trial and the Road Race. First rider starting the ITT at 9am.
There are two ‘out and back’ courses based on age group as listed in the Race Programme.
The start and finish are located by the Church on Longbush Road (just south of the Gladstone Road – Longbush Road intersection).
AFTERNOON: Road Race (RR) – Registration for those people riding the Road Race only will be from 11:00 am until 12:30pm at the Gladstone Sport Centre. All races will be held on the ‘Gladstone – Millars Road loop’ course (anti-clockwise). The number of laps for each age group is listed Race Programme above. Start times have been divided into 3 groups depending on the number of laps to be raced. Each lap is 29km.

Start/finish is located on Gladstone Road, approximately 1km west of the Gladstone Tavern.
We'll be based at the Gladstone Sports Centre for the day. You'll have access to all the facilities for the duration of the event - plus tea & coffee available too!
