Juniors 

Shirley Rugby League has a proud history in Shirley as a family-oriented club. We're more than just a league club, we're a whānau.

During 2023, our junior club has enjoyed plenty of time spent together on and off the field. We kicked off the season with our Inaugural camp, going with our tamariki and whanau out to Woodend Christian Camp to make awesome memories and grow our sense of belonging at the club. 

During 2023 we had a 5s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 10s & 12s teams in the Junior competion. On top of that, we were pumped to have our first-ever U16 Girls team. In 2024 we plan to offer league throughout 5-12s and also to add U13 Boys and U14 & 16 Girls teams to the mix.

Season Information:

The Junior Season usually begins in Early May and runs until August. Games are usually scheduled between 9am and 11:30 am. The majority of games are played at the Canterbury Park and A&P Show Grounds 

Training: 

The last couple of seasons it has been at our club rooms (33 Briggs Road) on a Thursday night from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Check back later to confirm our 2024 training times. 

Subs: 

Junior Subs for 2023 was $40 for the first child, $30 for the second, $20 for the third and any subsequent child. 2024 will be set in the new year.

Our aim is to have all our Juniors Hawks on the field come game day. We understand times are tough and if payment is an issue, please contact Andre to discuss payment options, plans and funding that may be available.
