Information for high schools

We want to encourage the rise of powerlifting among high school students. To do so we would like to provide additional supports to student athletes and to any staff looking to develop a powerlifting programme within their school.

APA will allow all students registered with a high school team* to compete once as a novice** in an APA competition.

We also encourage all student athletes to consider entering High School Nationals, held annually at the end of the year. 

If your school would like to host a powerlifting workshop, or have any other requests please email [email protected] and we will work to accomodate your school.

If you have surplus powerlifting equipment you would like to donate for use by high school athletes, please get in touch. 

*To register your high school team please email us in advance of the competition you want to participate in, with the names of your team members.

**Novice members are not required to pay APA/NZPF membership fees. Please note they do still need to pay entry fees for the competition itself
