Business House Competition

Business House Round Up 2024

The first round was completed last week and this week the Cup and Plate sections started in earnest, with all previous points being eliminated.  Winners of the night over both sections was team Tumeke Torbay, photo shown.

However the Cup leaders after the first two games are Browns Bay Fishing Club#1 and the plate leaders are Tumeke Torbay.  Long time combatants Crackerjacks and No Ushers are down the board while the ladies of the Bowled and Beautiful are right up there.

But none of that matters as Tim of Redlite Rebels stated “The Redlite Juggernaut continues and we will have both of the (Harcourts Business House) trophies in the cabinet at the end of the season”.  Now there’s a bold statement and I am sure any number of teams will shoot that down.  Redlite may have won the pre-Christmas tournament but there are another 4 games to be played before a winner will be found.  Redlite, you have a target on your back!!!!

Don’t forget that next week, 28 February, is fancy dress night and if you go to the gallery section of this website under Business house bowls you will find a collection of last years beauties!!!!

The Wendy Treadwell (Harcourts & Co) business house competition is one of the clubs most popular social competitions and attracts players from a wide range of companies and businesses from around the North Shore. It is designed for casual players and first-time bowlers who want to enjoy a game of bowls with their work colleagues or mates in a social and fun environment. Teams consist of four players and teams can change players from week to week depending on who they have available.

Two games a night are played with prizes for teams each night plus there are additional prizes for the overall competition winners and place getters. As part of the evening, players receive a free sausage sizzle and can make use of the club’s bar and club room facilities. A one-off entry fee of $240 ($60 per player) is payable by each team which covers the whole 8-week competition and use of the clubs bowls.

Casual Bowls

If you are looking to have a social roll-up with a few mates or colleagues, the club has an artificial green and bowls which it hires out to casual players. Cost for a 2-hour hire is $10 a head and all that is required are flat soled shoes, jandals or bare feet and a group of family members, friends, mates wanting to have some fun. The green is subject to availability and bookings are essential. To make a booking or find out more about casual bowls, email us at [email protected] .
