Grade Specific Information

U14 Teams (Born in 2008 or 2009)

We look to have very strong numbers in this grade, and we are hoping to field two teams for 2022. Depending on player numbers we could field either:

  • An underweight and an open team (we are just liaising with the CRFU to clarify the weight limit for this -  we will post this on our rugby webpage as soon as we know!)

  • Two open teams.

2022 Coaches - Garry Tibbotts, Taka Kuze & Andy Tulloch

U15 Team (Born in 2007)

Building on the strong performance of our U14 team in 2020, we will field a competitive team in the U15 grade for 2022.

2022 Coaches - Jonny Maule, Andy Lemon, Terrance Broughton & Dave Curits

Senior Boys (replacing U16 and U18 grades) (Born in 2004, 2005 or 2006)

Last year the CRFU has decided to change from having both U16 and an U18 grades to having a Senior Boys grade which encompasses both these age groups. This has been done to make for a fairer and more even competition and teams will be graded carefully to avoid mismatches of ability.

This means that for the second year in a row, we will instead be fielding a 1st XV and a 2nd XV instead of fielding an U16 and U18 team. As such we will be holding a trial for these teams on Sunday the 3rd of April to enable the fair selection of these teams.

2022 Coaches - Stu Joy & Kyrin Gourley (First XV), Campbell Jenning and Forwards Coach TBC (2nd XV)

Girls Rugby

This competition runs on a Wednesday afternoon, as part of the Canterbury Schools Sport competition. We will field a 1st XV in this competition provided we have enough player numbers.
