Equestrian sport is controlled by the New Zealand Equestrian Federation that embodies the main three disciplines, Eventing, Showjumping and DRESSAGE.

The Equestrian Federation has more than 5,000 members with over 2,000 of those being Dressage New Zealand members.

Dressage is predominantly a female sport (90%) catering for all age groups from 10 years to 70 years.
Members tend to be based in the lifestyle rural category. 70% of members are based around in the North Island

The 14-21 year old age group has seen huge increases in numbers over the past few years.
