ABOUT US

The Fairfield Amateur Athletic Club is based at Porritt Stadium in Hamilton. We meet on Monday nights over the summer season (October – March) and cater to children from 3 to 14 years of age.

 
3 to 6 year olds participate in a fun programme introducing basic skills of running, jumping and throwing in preparation for the athletic disciplines which are introduced from 7 years.

7 to 14 year olds have an age group manager who works with the children in a rotating 4 week programme which includes sprints, discus, shot put and long jump.  From 10 years and up, other events are gradually introduced including 400m, 800m, 1500m and high jump, hurdles and triple jump.

Club nights are about learning and participating with club championship events being held in the latter half of the season. Club members are also able to participate in external competitions ranging from low key Ribbon Days to WaiBOP championships and the Colgate Games.
