Hi to all athletes and parents

I'm sure you are all well entrenched in winter sport at the moment and not really thinking about athletics.  Just a couple of things of importance to think about though.

10th June Waikato Bay of Plenty Childrens AGM, Cambridge 10am:  This is the committee which makes the rules for how things are run within the centre for childrens athletics, it is also the meeting where dates for the next season are set for ribbon days and the champs events.  This is an important meeting for us to have representation at, you do not need to be on our committee to attend, just have an interest in how things are run going forward.  Please let me know if you are interested in attending.

Officials Training: 

The Waibop centre is desperately short of officials in the area.  The following dates are being offered for courses are being run in the Waikato:

• Sunday 12th August at Hamilton (venue to be confirmed) for track events,
• Sunday 9th September at Hamilton (venue to be confirmed) for jumps and/or throws
• Sunday 30th September at Hamilton (venue to be confirmed) for jumps and/or throws.

If you have an interest in becoming an official, we would love to hear from you - again you don't need to be a committee member.

Colgate Games 2019: Hamilton 5, 6, 7th Jan 2019.  

Your children may be interested in attending this but also our club will be asked to do our part in assisting with the events helping rack, spike, measure etc.  Helpers would be required to help for at least half a day, preferrably a whole day, rather than rotating every hour, as this is too difficult for the chiefs to manage having to give safety briefings every time a new batch of helpers arrive. This is another good reason to attend an officials course too.
