CLUB DAYS

CLUB LOCATION

Located in the Hutt Valley approximately 30km North of Wellington, New Zealand, just off State Highway 2 our track is easy to find and has heaps of parking. Travelling north or south on the Upper Hutt bypass (SH2) turn off at the Gibbons Street exit, then first right at the roundabout onto McLeod Street. Drive about 500 metres and on your right handside is the entrance to McLeod Park.

The track is on public land and is available for riding any time except when we are holding club events. We spend a lot of time and effort on the track and ask that only bicycles are ridden on the track (no RC cars or motorbikes as they destroy the surface and spoil riding for everyone).

For safety reasons we recommend that riders wear helmets at all times.

CLUB DAYS

Our club race days are every fine Sunday afternoon during the Summer (September-May). Over the Winter period we try to continue with Wednesday nights under lights however this is weather dependent.

CANCELLATIONS:

Club Day and Training updates and cancellations are advised via the Sporty App & on Facebook.

Registration for Sunday club day starts at 1:20 pm and closes at 1:45 pm.   Once we have completed a track inspection, a warm up with gate practise will start with club day racing starting at 2:00pm.

Club day race format is generally the same as a standard event with 5 motos for all riders. On club days we try and race on rough ability rather than strict age groups so don't be discouraged if you're just a beginner, we will try and race you with riders who will give you good competition, regardless of your or their ages.

Club Day Racing is $2.00 per rider - for ALL riders.  Non-member riders are encouraged to "have a go" for $2 entry for up to 3 club days. This is a great way to get a feel for the sport before joining up. After 3 "have a go" sessions, then you will need to join the club & obtain a BMXNZ race license.  Riders from other clubs are encouraged to come along and participate in club days for a $2 entry fee also.

Safety on club days is important and all bikes will be scrutineered and all standard safety gear must be worn. Anyone riding on the track without a helmet on club day will be asked to leave! See the
Gear Up page for a full list of bike do's and don'ts and a list of required and optional safety gear.
