TEAMS

Children are allocated to teams based on their age, and according to rules set by Central Football (to which Kaponga Soccer Club is affiliated). Where there is enough children for more than one team in any age grade, our approach is to allocate children so that all teams are competitive.

PRACTICES

Practice is Thursday night starting from 4:00pm, with practices starting toward the end of Term 2 each year. The exact date and time will be confirmed by the junior convenor following the close of registrations.

SEASON DATES

The first game of the 2022 season is Saturday, 7th May. Games for children playing in either First Kicks (4th-6th grade) or Fun Football (7th-8th grade) play until the end of Term 2, with all other grades finishing up in mid August.

GEAR

The Club provides a Kaponga Soccer shirt (which must be returned at the end of the season). Parents supply shinpads (mandatory), long black socks, and black shorts. (Please note that league-style shorts are not suitable, the shorts required are longer length and sit above the knee.) All gear is available from any sportswear shop, and most chain stores stock the items as well.

DISPENSATIONS

Limited dispensations for playing outside the appropriate age group are available, and these will be applied for at the discretion of the Club’s Junior Convenor. In considering dispensations, the Convenor will take into account Central Football dispensation rules, the player’s capability, and the availability of a suitable age group team for the child to play in.

SUBS

Subs for the 2022 season have been set and are as identified below. Subs must be paid before the start of the seasons or alternative arrangements made with the Junior Convenor.
