8 years ago three KAS workers decided to start up a club for Waiuku Netball to get some of our parents and workers out on the court. One of the KAS workers lasted five minutes on the court before falling and breaking her finger and she was out for the season. Fast forward to the following year and another KAS worker moved on and then there were two. We have worked away every season trying to give players no matter what skill level, age, size or whatever a safe place to play and enjoy the game of netball.
We have had our successes over the years with multiple teams topping the grade they were in. We started with one social team and in the 2022 season we had 5 teams on the court ranging from social to competitive with ages of players from 13 through to "over 65".
We also got some sets of new uniforms in 2023 to accommodate the fact we had gone from 3 teams the previous season to 5 this past season.
Over the years we have met some amazing women and we are always so proud of the teams and what they achieve - be that winning a game or just improving their game play.
We are always open to new players - any skill level, any age so look forward to seeing some returning faces in 2024 and some new ones too so we can continue our awesome jouney.
