Members are reminded to clean all footwear and poles after each tramp to help prevent the spread of Kauri Dieback.  Don't just rely on boot cleaning stations to do the job.

January

Monday 1st:  New Year’s Day Walk.  Puketoki Reserve.  Start time:   11am.  Grade:   Easy.  Duration:   1 hour

Gather at the carpark, do the walk, then enjoy a picnic lunch in the picnic area adjacent to the carpark.  Bring your own lunch and chair.

Saturday 4th:  Wentworth - Wires Loop (Not the usual way)

This walk starts at Wentworth camping ground and climbs up the hill to the junction of the Wires track. Then we will take a side track to Gold Mount for a view, about 30min one way, back to the junction to the Wires track, loop back on Wentworth waterfall track. First hour or two is very steep, otherwise moderate. There are some muddy places and the track is rather overgrown in places.  About 6h / 13km,

NOTE:  Club members are encouraged to participate in contributing trip/tramp ideas, and we are always looking for new territory.  If you can’t attend the planning meetings, at least tell Laraine or Maddy if you know of an interesting walk.  If you are prepared to lead a walk, even better – our more experienced members would be delighted to help you.
