The Coaches

Introducing KAREN

Karen, boasting over 45 years immersed in the world of marching, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the sport of marching. Throughout her journey, she has not only marched but also assumed coaching roles and held key positions on regional committees. Recognised for her dedication, Karen has been honoured with Life Membership by Marching Bay of Plenty and Marching Waikato, alongside Service and Long Service Awards from Marching New Zealand. Further testament to her commitment, she has been bestowed with a Service to Marching award from the Rotorua Lakes Council. Serving on the Board of Marching New Zealand from 2013 until 2020, Karen has played a pivotal role in shaping the sport's direction.

Fuelled by a genuine passion for marching, Karen remains devoted to its advancement. Witnessing her teams take to the field and give their all brings her immense joy. Her dedication to Madison Blues Marching is unwavering, and she eagerly looks forward to contributing to its success for years to come.

Introducing TAMARA

Tamara's journey within the marching community spans approximately 10 years, starting with the Waikato Association where she began as an Under 12 participant and progressed to the Under 16 category. Eight years ago, her passion for the sport was reignited when she moved to Rotorua and joined the Madison Blues Senior team, solidifying her place within the Madison Blues Whanau.

Throughout her tenure with Madison Blues, Tamara has worn many hats - she's been a marcher, a manager, a mom, and a coach. For her, being part of the Madison Blues Club is more than just training and marching; it's about the shared moments of joy, friendship, laughter, hard work, and the bonds forged within the club. She considers herself fortunate to represent this Whanau for another season, both as a marcher and a coach for the new Masters team.

Tamara eagerly anticipates the upcoming season, where she looks forward to seeing everyone come together to support the team, cheer on the girls as they dominate the marching field, and ultimately bring home the trophies.
