General Information

This event is non-competitive, the aim is for people to enjoy a fun run/walk/bike.  There will be no prizes for placings (ie. no 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) in the walk/run/bike events but there will be spot prizes drawn on the day.

There will be no timing of races on the day from event marshalls.

Water will be provided at the Darfield Domain and mid-way through the course but please bring your own water bottle for extra hydration.

The Darfield Primary School PTA takes no responsibility in relation to any personal injury or illness of participants during the event. St John personnel will be in attendance should anyone require their assistance over the duration of the event.

It is strongly advised that participants use sunscreen and wear hats to avoid any possible effects of the sun.  There will be some sunscreen available at our event, kindly donated by PGG Wrightson and Darfield Primary School.

It is the responsibility of all participants to ensure they wear suitable clothing for the event.  Some parts of the obstacle courses include water obstacles. It is advisable to keep suitably warm both before and after the event.

It is advisable for participants to consume plenty of fluids prior to the event.  Water will be available at the completion of the events.

It is advised that participants wear closed footwear such as sports shoes and not jandles


All cyclists must wear helmets.

Be aware that the course will take you over both smooth and rough grounds, as part of the course does go through a plantation area.

As we are promoting physical activity participants will not be permitted to smoke or drink alcohol during the event.

The courses will be suitably marked out with cones and marshalls will be available for direction and assistance throughout the course.

For safety purposes, no vehicles are to be driven alongside participants during the event.

This event will proceed regardless of adverse weather.

Parents/Adults who may have pre-schoolers either accompanying or participating will be the responsibility of those parents/adults, not the responsibility of the organisers.

It is the responsibility of each individual to undertake appropriate warm-up/warm-down exercises.

Participants MUST adhere to all directives provided to them prior to the start and during the event.  Be aware that the course is alongside and crossing roads which will not be closed to traffic, and also alongside the train tracks.

Photos will be taken on the day of our event and many will include our participants. These photos will be used purely for publicity of the Malvern Fun Run/Walk/Bike online and in local newspapers.
