Softball can’t function without coaches, umpires and scorers.

COACHING
Coaching is an incredibly rewarding role that requires patience, motivation and commitment. There are plenty of opportunities to coach, from teaching 4 year olds how to hold and swing a bat, to taking the Black Sox to another World Championship title. There is almost something for everyone.  If you wish to coach contact your local club or regional association today, you will be welcomed with open arms!

UMPIRES
Many people don’t realise how important umpires are but the game wouldn’t function without them. Umpiring is a great way to understand the game of softball and can lead to an exciting career path. To be an umpire you need an in-depth knowledge of the rules, confidence and quick decision making.

Marlborough has some awesome 'up and coming' umpires along with that mix of the more 'experience umpire'.  If you are keen to be part of the action, we would be more than happy for you to join us.  You might be an old player, a coach or just want a new challenge....and trust me - the view is outstanding from where we stand.

SCORERS
Scorers are also a necessity for softball and a role that can take you all over the world with representative teams. New Zealand has a qualification system to develop and grade scorers. For more information, have a look at the SNZ Scorers website here.
