2024 Massey Athletics Club Championships

The "Massey Athletics Club Championships" occurs once per season and is the only time our young athletes can attempt to officially break a club record.

All registered (and paid) athletes, aged 4 to 14 (sorry - no events for Mighty Mini's) can compete in a maximum of 5 events.  Please ensure you have paid your registration fees in full as it will be dissapointing if your childs registration is declined due to outstanding fees.

Our 2024 Club Champs will be held on Saturday February 24, 2024 beginning at 9:00 am.  We usually finish around 3:00 pm, but please allow for a full day of competition as we do not know until all entries have been received how many athletes will be competing and how many events will be entered into.

1500m and 800m events

Note that the 1500m and 800m events for Club Champs are not run on the main event day.  These 2 events are split from the rest and will be run at the end of the club nights 'prior to' and 'after' the main Club Champs event.

• 1500m - Monday February 19, 2024 (end of Club Night).
• 800m - Monday February 26, 2024 (end of Club Night).

This is done so we can split the 1500m, 800m and 400m races, as these are often run by the same athletes and it is too much of a load on those athletes to run all races in a single day.

Entries for ALL events close on Saturday, February 17 @ 8:00pm. No late entries will be accepted.

It requires a big effort to deliver this event and therefore we require help from parents to officiate events, to manage your children and make sure they get to their events when called and to be encouraging and make the day a great experience for everyone.

We need to have at least 1 experienced official on each event and will then require other parents to assist with measuring, end of track, etc.  If a club record has potentially been broken it will be confirrmed by either Roger, Tom or Rob and if it is made official, your child may have their name added to the Massey Athletics Club Records which includes past the names of past All Blacks, Football Ferns, NZ Basketballers and other top NZ athletes.

This is a great day to bring along extended family members to watch your children compete.  Bring a picnic, some shade and plenty of water and sun block and enjoy the day.  We are looking forward to seeing you and your families at the event on Saturday, February 24.
