Welcome to the NZ Evergreens 2024!

On behalf of the Auckland Softball and Franklin Softball Associations, we welcome you to the 59th Men's Evergreens Tournament in Pukekohe.

Whilst Franklin may be a new association, Pukekohe has a proud history of Softball and Colin Lawrie Fields has become one of the best tournament venues in New Zealand for Softball. It is now the home of The Easter Classic, which we look forward to announcing the new Masters Grade in 2025.

These tournaments don't happen without the significant investment of time by a few volunteers. I would like to thank Pam Behnke for her contribution to driving the operations of this tournament, and to Lawrence Joseph and his incredible team.

We look forward to sharing with you in the spirit of the game on and off the field.

Softball NZ CEO’s Welcome

On behalf of Softball New Zealand, I extend a friendly greeting to you all.

The NZ Men’s Evergreen Tournament has a proud history and remains a key feature of the summer for many to reconnect with old rivals and lifelong friends.

We wish to acknowledge hosts Auckland Evergreens Team and their organising committee who have worked to ensure the 59th Edition is another successful event. We trust this will be a memorable time enjoying the game we all love, and celebrating good times with mates.

Welcome from Auckland Council

It is a huge privilege and a pleasure to welcome everyone involved in the 2024 Evergreens Tournament being held for the first time here in Pukekohe.

The softball facilities at Colin Lawrie Fields are the result of the relentless drive and effort of a dedicated group of softball administrators and supporters who have been able to work with the wider Auckland Council and Franklin Local Board to create a facility I hope will continue to develop to become a major, built for purpose softball facility. Being able to host a tournament of this size and stature shows how that effort and investment is worth it.

Having the competitors, supporters and everyone involved with the tournament is a huge thing for the town and surrounding areas. Hopefully while you are here you are able to get out and about to experience everything the area has to offer.

I sincerely hope you enjoy your time here and that we see you back again.

Good luck and thanks,

Andy Baker
Franklin Ward Councillor
