SELECTION POLICY


Aim of Team Trials: To select the best possible team to win at their level.


Trials:

  1. Two separate trials will be held.
  2. Trials will be held on two different days of the week. Preferably one weekday night and one weekend day.
  3. If necessary, a third trial will be held.
  4. All players are to attend a minimum of one trial BUT two is preferable.
  5. A player must give the committee as much notice as possible if they cannot attend a trial/both trials for any reason.
  6. Acceptable valid reasons for not attending a trial/s are at the discretion of the committee.
  7.  A wet weather alternative is to be booked for the trials if possible. If not possible, cancellation dates will be advertised.
  8.  Umpire/s will be provided.
  9.   All players who have registered with the Club and paid the non-refundable registration fee are eligible for selection. This fee is deducted from the full subscription. The non-refundable registration fee must be paid before being allowed to take the court.



Selectors:

  1. Team selections are to be carried out by an independent selector(s) nominated by the committee. The selector(s) will consult with a committee nominated club member with knowledge of the past season.
  2. Team selection is to be finalised within one week of the final trial date if possible.
  3. Players should come prepared in appropriate clothing, footwear, no jewellery and short fingernails (below fingertip). Bring full water bottle, snacks and sunscreen.
  4. If players are carrying or recovering from injury and unable to fully take part in trials, an email should be sent prior to the first trial date.
  5. The selector’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. If you would like feedback on your team placement, please email [email protected] and your email will be responded to.
