Tauranga City Tridents have also been the recipients of funding grants from charitable providers. Below are the funding bodies that the club has been beneficiaries of.

Grassroots Trust

Grassroots Trust is dedicated to providing local funding to local communities. They have passion and enthusiasm for amateur sport, education and various charitable community initiatives and operate venues throughout the North Island to help support these endeavours.

Grassroots Trust provided funding to the club for 50 reversible playing singlets, to help kit out our flag football teams for both the Moana Bowl and external competitions like the Flag Football National Champs. This has allowed the club to provide playing uniform to club members without having to build those costs into our membership fees, making the game more accessible to those who want to play.

Trustpower Tauranga Community Fund

Trustpower care about supporting their local communities. To help support the community where many of their wonderful people live, work and play, Trustpower has created a community fund to give a helping hand to those who care for people, place and our future. The Tauranga Community Fund use the principles of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga and sustainability to assess applicants projects, with a view to creating better local communities.

The Trustpower Tauranga Community Fund assisted Tauranga City Tridents with the purchase of basic training and playing equipment in the form of flags, balls and training bibs – our people-centric focus aligning well with the principle of manaakitanga. This is one of the reasons we have been able to keep true our desire to decrease barriers to participation, with this funding allowing us to cover some costs that we would otherwise need to recover via membership fees.
