Welcome to the Te Kawau Hockey Club. We are a club made up of rural primary schools in the Manawatu region. There are teams for all abilities from New Entrants to Year 8’s.
The Winter games are played at Hockey Manawatu Twin Turfs or Massey University Turf in Palmerston North.
Primary School Competition, Year 0-6, games are on Sundays between 8am and 1.30pm.
Year 0-2 will play 4 aside on eighth turf
Year 3-4 will play 6 aside on quarter turf
Year 5-6 will play 7 aside on half turf
Intermediate School Competition,
Year 7-8 games are played 7 aside on half turf on Friday nights or Saturday mornings.
Children need black shorts, black socks, a mouth guard, shin pads and a stick. Sprigs are not allowed on the turf.
Fees for 2023 are as follows:
Year 0-4: $50.00
Year 5/6: $55.00
Year 7/8: $60.00
The 2023 winter hockey season starts the week on the 5th-7th of May and finishes week on the 11th-13th August.
There are no games King Birthday Weekend, Weekend of 30th June and 7th July

Summer Hockey games are played at Twin Turfs, Manawaroa Park in Palmerston North.
Year 0-2 competition - Thursdays 3.30pm - 6pm
Year 3-4 competition -Thursdays 3.30pm - 6pm
Year 5-6 competition -Wednesdays 3.30pm - 5pm
Year 7-8 competition - Tuesdays 3.30pm - 5.30pm
Fees for the 2023 Summer hockey are $35 for all year groups. 2023 Summer hockey season starts Monday 20th February and finishes Friday 31st March 2023.
