What gear will I need?
Gear varies depending on the age and grade your child plays in. Below are some of the gear required in each grade. Feilding Junior Cricket Club will provide basic team gear for practice and match day use. This helps to reduce the cost to you. The only items you need to purchase are white cricket pants, and an abdominal guard / box (these are in the team kit, but for hygienic reasons most prefer to buy their own).
Players are also welcome to bring their own gear. Please ensure all of your child's gear has been clearly marked with his/her name, and that only your child uses their gear.
Helmet rules:
The old AUS/NZ standard of AS/NZS 4499 series was superseded by the British Standard 7928: 2013 back in 2016/17 and we think many of the older AUS/NZ standard helmets will have been phased out by now as many of the retailers stopped selling them pretty much immediately 4 years ago. The standard can be identified by a sticker on the inside of the helmet.
